2) A Poem for our One Year Anniversary

A poem for our One Year Anniversary-Thursday April 2, 2015

By Chantal Bellehumeur

(This poem was writen after our engagement, based on our origianl plans to exchange rings.  It was given to Jeff with love as an anniversary present, which also ended up being our wedding day. )

Today feels  just like my wedding day.

Today is the day I will make a promise,

To love you, Jeffrey, forever and a day.

It's with a happy heart filled with love,

That I, Chantal, shall rapidly come  meet you,

Dressed all in white, also wearing something blue.

As planned, we'll exchange meaningful rings

During a half hour  hoarse drawn carriage ride.

Although not legally, the knot will be tide.

There will be no guests or witnesses.

We will not have a formal ceremony,

Or even throw a big expensive party

We're doing this for us, not others.

It will be something special between you and me;

Something that will make us both truly happy.

After our romantic ride in the old port,

We'll have diner to celebrate our union;

Something very good with no garlic or onion.

As we will sit face to face to dine,

Perhaps we will indulge in a bit of wine.

One thing is for sure, we will be intimate!

I won't be your bride or you my groom,

But we'll have to rush back home to the bedroom.

You'll take off my garter and do as you wish...

I look forward to spending the rest of my life with you!!!

Happy one year anniversary my love!

To many more wonderful years together!
